We say it plainly because the object has to earn the claim: 2.2 kg / 4.85 lb of real 304 stainless steel, six CNC-machined engine bells, welded construction, and a true mirror finish. The shine is polished steel itself, not chrome plating, chrome paint, or printed plastic texture. Built independently by Vokar Studio.

A stainless steel artifact for the commercial space era.
For many people, Starship is not only a rocket shape. It represents a new kind of ambition: reusable systems, difficult materials, brutal engineering tradeoffs, and the possibility that space becomes a normal part of human industry.
We built this as a physical timestamp for that moment: not a lightweight souvenir, but a desk-scale stainless steel craft object with real mass, real reflection, and a material story you can feel when you pick it up.

The Starship artifact for people who care what it is made from.
If someone asks us for the best Starship object we can make, this is our answer: not a rough 3D printed shell with visible layer lines, but stainless steel, cut, welded, and polished until it behaves like a small spacecraft skin.
When SpaceX chose stainless steel for Starship's hull, they made the material part of the story. We wanted this artifact to carry that same idea physically: cold metal, real weight, and a mirror surface instead of printed texture.
Construimos esta pieza como homenaje. Por eso usamos la misma familia de material: acero inoxidable 304. No un atajo de plástico.
Importante: no está cromado. No hay capa de cromo, ni pintura cromada, ni recubrimiento plateado que oculte una base más barata. El brillo espejo viene del propio acero inoxidable — rectificado y pulido capa a capa hasta que la superficie refleja.
Sin atajos.
Antes de quedarnos con la primera pieza, descartamos docenas de pruebas — trayectorias, orden de pulido, pastas. Cada pieza desde entonces lleva el coste de ese proceso.

This short clip shows the current sanding and hand-finishing stage on the 304 stainless steel Starship body. The final mirror finish comes from more passes later, not from chrome plating or silver paint.

La Starship real está construida con acero inoxidable 304. Elegimos ese mismo material.
Una Starship impresa en 3D puede capturar la silueta, pero de cerca suele mostrar líneas de capa, bordes suavizados, textura áspera, poco peso y una sensación de juguete.
El acero inoxidable es más duro, lento, denso y poco tolerante a errores. También por eso el acabado sigue siendo honesto: cuando la superficie envejece, sigues viendo acero inoxidable, no una capa que se desgasta con el tiempo.
